The flavors

The fillings are what make UGLY Chocolates so unique! The flavors are not all so surprising, however, I make them all from scratch in my home kitchen. I use local farm sourced ingredients to make small batch, fresh fillings to wrap in my 70% semi-sweet chocolate. I sure love them all and hope you do too!

  • Bourbon Ball

The one that got it all started! This is my take on a Kentucky favorite and if I did it right, this bite will bite you back! This creamy center is infused with bourbon and pecans wrapped in my semi-sweet chocolate, garnished with crunchy toasted pecan pieces. It's not my dad's recipe, but it'll do!

  • Dark Caramel

This smooth caramel has a deep toffee flavor that won't stick to your teeth. It's the perfect balance for my semi-sweet chocolate.

  • Sweet Potato Crunch

Sweet Potato Crunch is my award winner. This little fella packs a punch of flavor and textures. It has a creamy sweet potato center with hints of cinnamon, bourbon and sweet potato vodka, wrapped in my semi-sweet chocolate, placed on a pillow of crunchy toasted pecans and buttery toffee bits. You'll be surprised at how much you fall in love with this unlikely fancy chocolate filling.

  • Kahlua Fudge

Kahlua Fudge is based on my dad's famous cake. The kind of cake everyone fights over at family gatherings. It's so good! I took the same creamy flavor notes and made a gooey-fudgy center wrapped it in my semi-sweet chocolate. I take the extra step to make my own kahlua, with locally roasted Lanoca coffee and locally distilled spirits. It's one of my most well-loved flavors and for good reason!

  • Black Raspberry

The glowing gem of the collection and a real customer favorite. It's bright and smooth, with a kiss of Chambord. It's rich without being too fruity and just the right balance of sweet and tart to compliment my semi-sweet chocolate.

  • Mint Julep

A tip of the hat to my home state! A Kentucky favorite, especially around Derby time! A buttery blend of julep mint and real bourbon, wrapped in my semi-sweet chocolate. Enough bourbon to warm you up and enough mint to cool you back down. Grab your fancy hat and enjoy one of my very favorite flavors!

  • Smoked Toffee

My friend described it as, "Delightfully weird!". Do I actually smoke the toffee? Yes. Yes I do. Add some semi-sweet chocolate and we have a winning combination!

  • Ganache

Ganache is semi-sweet chocolate blended with fresh heavy cream from Simply Natural Creamery in Ayden, NC. Smooth and rich, this toothsome filling shows off the best notes of my chocolate from shell to center. Oh my ganache, it’s terrific!

  • Orange Cream

One of the brightest, friendliest chocolates you’ll meet! Folks who love orange REALLY love their orange and this one does not disappoint! With a kiss of Cointreau, this filling goes beautifully with my semi-sweet chocolate.

  • Coffee Cream

If there is something I love more than chocolate, it's coffee! A smooth creamy (without the dairy) filling that highlights the warm, nutty flavor notes of some of my favorite locally roasted coffees by Lanoca Coffee Company out of Farmville, NC.

  • Toffee

A round of delectable tender crunchy toffee with a coat of my semi-sweet chocolate. It’s toffee!

  • Honey Almond

Roasty toasty ground almonds mixed with local premium honey. With just the right amount of salt, this is a satisfying bite of chocolate covered bliss.

  • Coconut Rum

I have to admit, I've never really liked coconut candies or baked goods. I can't stand the texture. I actually made this flavor for my sister who LOVES coconut and tweaked it so I would love it too. So here it is! A smooth velvety center and a hint of spiced rum. I really am proud of this one!

  • Pecan Turtle Toffee

Fresh local pecans toasted and salted, plunged in a square of buttery toffee and topped with my semi-sweet chocolate. Simple and addictive!

  • Banana Walnut

Banana walnut should actually be called "Banana Bread" of course, it's gluten-free, like all my goodies, but that is what it is modeled after. Warm and buttery banana bread. I knew it would be tasty, but I was actually shocked when it turned SO good! In fact, it's one of my favorites. The balance of spiced rum, banana and toasty salty walnuts makes this an addictive favorite! It's a hidden gem.

This is an old family favorite recipe. Nothing beats that warm caramel flavor! Crafted with fresh butter and cream from Simply Natural Creamery in Ayden, NC.

  • Peanut Butter

  • Espresso Bar

The espresso bar is a go-to when you need a pick me up! It's definitely one of mine. The crunch and deep espresso roasted coffee from Lanoca Coffee Company flavors pair perfectly with the smooth, rich semi-sweet chocolate.

  • Chili Pecan Bar

Toasted praline pecans with a blend of flavorful chili spices, robust and mild in heat. Crunchy with the salty and sweet. I put this on a s'more and I couldn't believe how utterly amazing it was. Oh my goodness. I love this bar.

  • Toffee Almond Bar

Toasted almond bits mixed with toffee bits and wrapped in a lovely bit of chocolate candy bar bliss. Yes, I toast the almond and yes, I make the toffee. A staple of the chocolate bar world.
